The images show the looks and design of the Xiaomi upcoming fitness tracker and it seems that Xioami has made significant changes in Mi Band 5 compared to its predecessor especially in screen size. Mi 5 consists of thin bezels as seen in the images and when the screen is turned on the display reaches the edge of the thin bezels with a capacitive button in the bottom center of the display. The leaked images also show the Mi band 5 with or without the wrist strap.
Rumors suggest that there is a larger 1.2-inch AMOLED display. This is a significant improvement in display size when compared to its predecessor Mi band 4 which has a 0.95-inch display. We hope that the larger display won’t affect the weight of the Mi 5 as Xiaomi Mi bands are usually lightweight.
Previously Mi Band 3 and Mi Band 4 both support NFC in China only. But according to leaked rumors, Mi 5 will also add NFC support for the rest of the world. We still don’t know yet whether Mi Band 5 will come with the Xiaomi Mi Pay system or it will use Google Pay but with NFC support it will definitely make cashless transactions more convenient.
Mi Band 5 pricing and availability:
As far as the prices and availability are concerned, there is no official statement of Xiaomi yet but as compared to Mi Band 4. Mi 4 comes around 169 Yuan or $24 without NFC and with NFC it comes at a price tag of 229 Yuan or $32 so we expect that both the variants of Mi 5 will cost below $40 and this successor of Mi 4 will be available in June 2020.
