Today, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) issues a press statement announcing that PTA has extended the deadline for blocking unregistered mobile IMEIs till 3rd July 2020.
This rue will be implemented to all those devices who are registered with GSMA but not registered with PTA.
The motive of this extension is to give some relaxations and advantages to the users and to continue the norm of social distancing during the time of the global pandemic caused by the COVID-19.

All the unregistered mobile devices will start blocking from 4th July 2020 as the deadline will end on 3rd July and users will be informed through SMS.

As per the norm, all mobile devices connected to a local network via any local SIMs are required to be validated within sixty days from the first use of mobile connected to any local network in Pakistan.
However, Due to the deadly situation caused by the COVID-19, the government imposed lockdown nationwide.
The last deadline for the unregistered mobile devices was 18th March 2020 and all the unregistered mobile devices were due to get blocked on 18th March 2020.
The government of Pakistan also starts an online Device Identification Registration and Blocking System to facilitate users.
