This year in March Oppo released three main devices as Find X2, Find X2 Pro and a limited edition Find X2 Pro Lamborghini edition. Along with these three devices, there are Find X2 Neo and Find X2 Lite launched in the global market which is just a rebranded version of Reno 3 vitality edition and Reno 3 Youth edition launched in China.
Now, there have been new design patents surfacing over the internet which shows Find X2 series new design with an under-display selfie camera.
In-Display Camera:
Last Year, oppo revealed a prototype of a smartphone with an in-display selfie camera. Later on the year, the Chinese smartphone giant applied for the patent registration of the smartphone displayed above with the China National Intellectual Property Office (CNIPA).
Letsgodigital a well known global publication revealed the documentation of the above-mentioned design on July 7th, 2020.
By the looks, we can see that there are five different color options along with a little to no difference design change. Among the five designs, one has a unique styled LED flash module placement and an Italian flag on it Three designs have Lamborghini signature taillights which is assumed to have a notification LED light and all the five models have an artificial leather back.
It looks like these are another special edition Lamborghini Edition smartphones with a different back design and an in-display camera. It is also to be noted that the Oppo’s 65W super Vooc charger was introduced along with the special edition Find X Lamborghini edition. So it seems to make sense for the company to test and introduce new technology with limited edition devices. After the success and a lot of testing, they would introduce it with the premium models launched for mainstream consumers.
Anyway, these are just the early-stage design and it is not confirmed yet that they would make it to the consumer markets or not. But we would definitely see the smartphones with the in-display cameras as soon as the Visionox’s tech started mass production of displays with an under-display camera.
