Ming-chi Kuo States:
Kuo states in an investor note that Apple will ship iPhone 12 without Earpods and the charging adapter in the box. The reports relating to the lack of Earpods in the iPhone 12 box is circulating over the internet. This step is taken by the analysts as that Apple might want to increase the sale of its Airpods. However, the news of the absence of the charging adapter in the box comes as a shock to everyone.
Kuo states that this decision is made with the pricing in mind. The cost of the iPhone 12 is higher than its predecessor mainly due to the adoption of 5G technology. Apple wants to ship the latest iPhone 12 at the cost of its predecessor which was launched last year. The move of withdrawing the Earpods and charging adapter comes in order to maintain the price bracket.
The Analyst also reveals that Apple will ditch its 5W and 18W charging adapter soon and will manufacture a 20W charging adapter. 20W charging adapter comes with the iPhone 11 pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max out of the box. 20 W charger will fit in the same size and design as seen with the 18W charger.
The ditching of the charging adapter with the iPhone 12 previously revealed by another analyst at Barclays. However, Kuo’s statements in the investor’s note are likely to be confirmed and more accurate. According to Kuo, Apple will ship iPad Air, iPad, and iPad mini with the same 12 W charger in the box.
As far as the users are concerned, it will bother many Apple users that they have to buy a separate charger for their new iPhones. Let’s See what Apple would say in the press release and How Apple will justify this move.
