Xiaomi’s Redmi brand is famous for its great value for money with each product brings up specs upgrade at an affordable price. Today Redmi announced that forthcoming Redmi 10X will be the first phone in the X series and will be launching on 26th May 2020 in China. A senior Xiaomi official also confirmed that Redmi 10X will be the first smartphone to feature MediaTek Dimensity 820 5G Soc which also unveiled today.

This news is confirmed by Lu Weibing Xiaomi’s President and General Manager, that Redmi 10X will be the first phone to feature Mediatek’s latest Budget 5G 820 SoC which is launching today. MediaTek 820 SoC has scored 415,672 in AnTuTu benchmark which is quite impressive considering it is a budget chipset and the score over 400,000 is in line with Qualcomm’s 2019 flagship 855 SoC.
The MediaTek Dimensity 820 chipset is based on 7nm architecture. Its is an octa-core chipset, where four High-performance cores Cortex-A 76 has a clock speed of 2.6 GHz compared to 2.0GHz seen in Dimensity 800 series and the other four core Cortex-A55 clocked at 2.0GHZ which will be used for handling low-intensity tasks. This chipset is also equipped with Mediatek’s latest APU 3.0 with an integrated 5G modem.
According to MediaTek, Mali-G57 GPU MC5 is added for handling graphics which also supported by MediaTek’s Hyperengine 2.0, a software-based improvement for enhanced gaming performance.
The Redmi 10X will be wrapped around 6.57 inch OLED with FHD+ resolution which includes 16MP selfie camera. The phone will arrive with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is powered by a 4420 mAh battery pack and also contains an in-display fingerprint scanner security option. There will be two variants, a base variant, and a pro variant. More details will be unveiled at the launch date which is 26th May 2020.
