After years of making the budget-friendly affordable phones, Motorola steps up its game and released a true flagship phone. The flagship space that has been empty from Motorola has now filled with Motorola Edge Plus. But the question arises Will it compete with the likes of Samsung, Google, LG, or even Apple’s Flagship? By the looks and the product offering the Motorola Edge Plus looks like a complete flagship phone and it shows that Motorola can still deliver a product that can compete with the bests available in the market.
The Motorola Edge Plus is not a perfect phone and there is no phone in the market available that is perfect, every phone has some drawbacks or shortcomings but with Motorola Edge+, the Motorola has done many things right then it has done wrong.

Specifications of Motorola Edge+
Design and Display of Motorola Edge+:
When people are buying a flagship phone then they are more specs hungry. They want the latest and greatest tech available. Without the flagship chipset or the greatest specs, the phone is not a true flagship phone.
The display of the phone is on par with the other flagships. With the Motorola Edge+, the Motorola decided to go with the 6.7 Inches OLED capacitive touch screen. The screen has a pixels resolution of 1080*2340 pixels and a density of 335 pixels per inch with a screen to body ratio of 95.8%. As the trend going on, Motorola decided to go with the trend and opted for a 90Hz refresh rate panel for the Motorola Edge+. This screen may not compete with the 120Hz refresh rate panel of Samsung S20 Ultra but it competes with the likes of Google Pixel 4XL and the newly launched One Plus 8.
This screen is a curved display which curved towards the side of the edges and has a software button to prevent users from unintentional touches.
The Motorola Edge+ is made with a combination of metal and glass with an aluminum frame separating the metal and glass in the middle. Due to the presence of metal the phones weigh around 203g which sometimes feels a bit heavy.
On the top right corner, the screen has a hole-punch cutout like the One Plus 8 and One Plus 8 Pro for the selfie camera which matched the modern trends and design.
Internals:
On the internal side, Motorola opted to go for all the flagship specs that it can offer. Just like the LG V60, Samsung S20 series, and One Plus 8 series, Motorola goes with the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. Over the past few years, Motorola has avoided Qualcomm’s best chipset and went for the mid-range offering from Qualcomm but now for the flagship phone, the Motorola went for the Snapdragon 865 in Motorola Edge+.
With snapdragon 865, the Motorola Edge+ has a huge 12GB of RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 onboard storage. There is no Micro SD card option and most people don’t miss this as 256GB is enough for most of us.
Cameras:
The Motorola Edge Plus comesequipped with four cameras. There is a triple camera setup in a vertical camera module. The main camera is 108 megapixels with f/1.8 aperture with 8 megapixels f/2.4 telephoto lens with 3 times optical zoom and a 16 megapixels f/2.2 ultra-wide lens for depth. Outside the camera module, there is another pill shape module which includes the Dual-tone LED flash. On the video end the rear camera can record videos at 1080p on both 30 and 60 frames per second and 3240p and 2160p can record only at 30 frames per second. The camera also has optical image stabilization, panorama, and HDR features.
For the selfies, the Motorola Edge+ has a single 25 megapixels f/2.0 aperture selfie shooter which has an HDR option and can record videos of 1080p at 30 frames per second only, there is no option to record at 60 frames per second from the selfie camera.
Battery:
To attract the customer and to justify its flagship price, Motorola left no stone unturned. The Motorola Edge+ has a massive 5000mAh battery pack which will easily give you the battery backup of more than one day. This battery capacity can easily match with the likes of Samsung’s greatest S20 ultra and the LG’s flagship V60.
On the charging end, there is a slight let down by the Motorola that is the Motorola Edge+ only supports 18W fast charging via USB type-C whereas the competitors are offering much higher at 30 W or even 50W fast charging. With 18W fast charging this phone took extra took to charge up the massive 5000mAh battery. Motorola Edge+ also offers wireless charging at 15W which is a trend nowadays and a reverse wireless charging at 5W to juice up your other gadgets like earbuds or another phone which supports wireless charging. When asked about the 18W charging the Motorola gives excuses that you don’t need to charge it up more often because of the massive 5000mAh battery.
Additional features:
There is an under-display optical fingerprint scanner. The phone also has an accelerometer, gyro, and proximity sensors. It also has a 3.5 mm audio jack which is a rarity these days in the flagship and to boost the audio quality this phone also has a stereo speaker. This phone runs on the latest Android 10 OS. Motorola Edge + is available in two color option i.e. Smokey Sangria and Thunder Grey.
Motorola Edge+ Price:
For international users, it is priced at $999 which is a flagship price and is made available for sale in mid of March 2020. For Pakistani users, the price is expected at Rs 105,000 and is yet not confirmed when this phone is made available for sale.
How does it appeal to the Customers?
The Motorola Edge+ offers a great value for money. It doesn’t innovate anything but it has all the latest and greatest specs, the sleek and good looking design, and the most prominent thing is the aspect ratio. It offers 21:9 screen which is why the Motorola Edge+ is slim across the waist and is really tall and yet it is comfortable in the hands.
As the smartphone manufactures are moving away from the curved display, Motorola made a bold move by using a curved display in the Motorola Edge+ and it has added the software buttons on the curved edges and some software tweaks to prevent users from accidental touches.
