Sony Reon Pocket Air Conditioner announced last year and now the device is made available for sale. This new device is quite useful for the sub-continent region as the summer is at its peak these days. The interesting fact about this device is that it is launched by the Sany as a crowdfunding project back in August 2019. After 11 months the device is made available for the sale. According to the report, Sony launched the device at a very competitive price of 13,000 Yen or Rs 20,000. The company made it clear that users have to place this portable device in a pouch in their T-shirts. The AC is mode made to purify or cool the Air as the traditional AC is designed to work. Instead of using the outside air, it uses what Sony called it the “Peltier effect” to work and provide cool air. It is a material that absorbs and emits heat when get interact with the electric current. According to the product description on the product listing page, Sony Reon Pocket Air Conditioner can bring down the temperature to -13 degree celsius.

It can also work as an inverter and can be used in the cold weather where temperature can be reached at 8.3 degrees celsius. Both the decrease and increase in the temperature will depend on the person himself. Additionally, the device will be controlled through a mobile app that will offer as many as four different modes of temperature along with the auto mode.
As far as the battery is concerned, Sony claims that it can work for two hours on a single charge and the device will charge through the USB Type-C port. To support the device, the company is also selling its own inner wear T-shirt “RNPS-C1VA” which comes in three sizes “S, M, and L”. These T-Shirts have a built-in pocket on the inner side which will hold this device.
As far as availability is concerned, this device is now only available in Japan and it is not confirmed when will it be available for other markets.
